First two weeks of May

Hi everyone,   Hope you are all doing well and enjoying the spring time.

We are doing good and having some interesting experiences.   I think the greatest thing we had this past week was zone conference down in Youngstown.    We were down there all day on Tuesday for training and they fed us a wonderful lunch also.    There were about 5 or 6 other couples and probably 30 young missionaries.    It is fantastic to be with them and President and Sister Vellinga were also there instructing us and it was a wonderful day.   Wish they did it more than once every 3 months.

It is very green here now and the green is a different, more vibrant green than we have out west.   The trees are all in blossoms and there are so many different colors of blossoms.  it is absolutely beautiful.   Wish I could send you pictures of them.   The only bad thing is apparently I have allergies to something here because I have been having a harder time breathing and have been so tired and had no energy.   At 1st I didn't know what the problem was, just knew I didn't feel good and then some people told me it was allergies and they are probably right.   We have had a lot of rain the past 2 weeks and whenever it rains I feel better.   Probably because the pollen gets washed out of the air.    Yesterday it poured down so hard.   We were driving home in it and could hardly see to drive.   But it makes it nice after it quits.    Also all the lilacs are out so it smells so good.   And the farmers are out plowing the ground so it also smells like fresh turned earth and I like that smell too.    The trees are all leafed out and when you drive down the road sometimes you are going through a canopy of green.   It really is a beautiful place.

We are meeting some really different/interesting people here.   You wouldn't believe what some people will live in and the living conditions of many of them.   Lots of times there isn't even a place for us to sit down so we visit standing up, which is probably just as well because everyplace has dogs and cats so when we sit we get pet hair all over us.    So many of the people are in very poor condition physically, mentally or/and spiritually.   Many of them are not excited to see us but they are always nice to us.   And then there are many who are so wonderful to be with.   They would do anything for us and give us food and things or have us in for dinner.   They have an empty-nesters family home evening group and we go to it with them.   Lots of fun but we sure miss our group back in Green River.
We are enjoying our little apartment.   It is big enough for us and easy to clean and keep up.   It is kinda nice not having all that "stuff" to take care of and worry about.   Found out we can do without quite a bit of it but I do miss having things from my kitchen.   But we haven't had much time to bake or cook anyway.   We eat out a lot at fast food places because we end up not being able to come home.   If we know we are going to be out all day we take a lunch.   We are slowly learning the ropes of this mission and also can get around prettty good now.

We miss all of you and love to hear from you so write when you can.
